About anonymity

You are not required to identify yourself. However, please be aware of the following so you can decide how much information to share:

  • The web form is hosted by Google Forms. Google may log technical metadata such as IP address and browser information as part of their infrastructure. Tether Chat does not receive or store this metadata. If you need stronger anonymity, submit from a personal device on a network not associated with you, or use a VPN or Tor browser.
  • Email submissions reveal the sender's email address. Use a personal or newly-created account if anonymity matters to you.
  • Anonymous reports limit our ability to ask follow-up questions. If you're willing, leave a one-way contact method (a pseudonymous email) so we can request clarification.

What happens next

  1. 1
    Acknowledgement

The review committee acknowledges receipt within five business days (when a contact method is provided).

  2. 2

An independent committee reviews the report. Access to the report and any identifying details is restricted to committee members.

    Investigation

If warranted, the committee initiates an investigation and may engage outside counsel or specialists. We protect the reporter's identity throughout.

  4. 4
