In the channel you want to connect, click the (+) next to the tabs and add TetherChat as a tab.

How to create and connect a tether

1

Configure the connection

When TetherChat is added to the channel, the configuration form appears. Choose to create a new Tether (you’ll get a Tether ID) or connect to an existing one by pasting the Tether ID from Slack or Discord.

2

Start messaging

Once connected, every message in the channel is synced to the other platform in real time. No extra steps required.

Use cases for Microsoft Teams

  • Sync a Teams channel with Slack or Discord for cross-platform collaboration
  • Bridge two Teams tenants (Teams-to-Teams) for partners or acquisitions
  • Keep sales or support channels aligned with external Slack or Discord channels
  • Unify project or department channels across different organizations

Example use cases

Why teams use TetherChat with Microsoft Teams: two common scenarios-sales staying in contact with potential customers, and support communicating with customers more easily.

Sales & customer communication

Connect a Teams channel to a prospect or customer’s Slack channel so sales can stay in contact in the tool their customers use. Proposals, questions, and follow-ups stay in one conversation without switching apps or forwarding emails.

Customer support

Tether your Teams support channel to the channel where your customers are (e.g. Slack or Discord). Support can communicate with customers in real time without asking them to switch apps, making it easier to help and resolve issues.
